Each year at the end of the Summer term we submit our Year 2 to Dorset Local Education Authority and in turn they submit it to the Department of Education. The data is compared with that of other schools in Dorset and Nationally.
The Year 1 Phonics Screening takes place in June each year in all schools nationally. This involves each child being asked to read 40 individual words set out in a booklet. The booklet is sent to schools in advance of the test but we are not allowed to open the package until the week of the screening. Some of the words are real words and some or 'non-words'. The screening shows the child's ability to use their phonic knowledge to decode words.
As ever, we were very pleased with last year’s results.
We are very proud of our children’s attainment. The predictions for this year continue to look impressive.
